Sandra has 15 years of experience in the fashion industry in France and India. After completing her Post Graduate Diploma in Pattern Making, she worked for brands like Rip Curl Europe and Etam for 7 years in France. And then India was calling her — a wonderful opportunity to explore different sectors — factories, weavers, printers, embroiderers. She designed for high fashion brands like Burberry, Chloe and Timberland, identifying trends in the global market. She is a specialist in pattern making and CAD Lectra
Systems Sandra went on to create her own label and managed a hand embroidery unit giving support to 18 women for 2 years. She also designed for a NGO which gives employment to local women in Hampi. Began career in Moscow working as an assistant designer for a number of menswear and womenswear brands, providing services in pattern making and development. For a couple of years pursued an independent enterprise in made-to-measure menswear, leading the creative process as well as production and communication with clients. Joined Raffles as a fashion design lecturer in 2012.
Vipin has 8 years of experience in the fashion industry and academic field. During his journey in fashion he has worked with designers, companies and retail stores. He has designed numerous creations which apparently sold in stores. He has done many fashion shows and created designer wear for different clientele. He is fluent in skills like fashion art; pattern making, fabric developments etc. In addition, he is a talented CAD artist. Apart from this he is a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management. His journey goes on, helping students to make their dream come true. As a teacher and designer he strives to create out of-the-box designs and concepts, to push the envelope, and welcome new challenges with enthusiasm.
Jhoanne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Clothing Technology and Masters in Technology Management at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She has an extensive experience in fashion/apparel retail industry specializing in trend forecasting, merchandising, buying, design and product development, inventory management, and OTB planning. She has worked in both ready to wear and global fashion retail brands in the Philippines like Guess, Freego, Penshoppe and Cinderella. Prior to teaching, Jhoanne worked in one of the textile company in China with vertical set up integration where she gained her technical skills in manufacturing, export and trading business. While working in China.she got to work with various kinds of multinational companies like Pacific Brands, Oxylane and Otto and exported garments to Australia, New Zealand, KSA, Germany, Japan and Europe.
Educated at Bath Academy and the Royal College of Art. Began career at Bath Museum Service, progressed to magazine design in London, worked at I-D, Sunday Times, various music (Underground) and fashion titles (i-D). Followed by corporate design with Landor and Wolff Olins for a number of years, then freelanced with London publishers and record labels. Taught design degree courses for 9 years then designed for hi-tech companies in the Thames Valley area, moving to Brighton in 1999 where he serviced internationalnational and local clients. He is very passionate about Art and Technology. Arjun has 8 years of industry experience and also has conducted several design workshops for design schools in the country. He started his career as an automobile engineer in organizations like Hyundai and Caterpillar. After 3 years in the industry he pursued his ambitious master’s degree in Product Design as he had great passion for design and manufacturing. With the combination of engineering and design knowledge, Arjun has completed more than 12 successful design projects which are on mass production within a span of 4 years. He also designed an NGO projects which focuses on water conservation and transportation, electricity generating recumbent exercise bike etc.
Luis is an Industrial Designer graduated from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and currently he is pursuing his Masters in Education - Teaching & Learning processes at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Distance learning). He started working as a Designer assistant just after he completed high school; within his 8 years of experience he has worked for several companies participating in different projects for the American and European market, developing projects in the fields of Furniture Design, Exhibition Design, Retail Design, Scenography, advertising and 3D visualization for brands such as Procter & Gamble, Givenchy, Chanel, Dior, LG Electronics and Nike. His interests are Higher Education, Social Design, Ergonomics, Inclusive Design, Marketing , Sustainable Design, Contemporary Art, creative techniques and production processes.
Samarth completed his graduation in mechanical engineering and holds a Masters in Product design from M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies(Coventry University). He has 4.5 years of experience in Design Research & Education. Major clients he has worked with are Mercedes, Volvo, Ford, John Deere, CAT, Chrysler, GE, Airbus & Boeing… to name a few. Expertise ranges from conceptual design, Engineering, Analysis & Manufacturing with more inclination to transportation design. He also has over 4 years of experience in teaching design. He strongly believes in – “Good design means never having to say “Click Here” – SHAWN LESLIE.
AJ Mallari propitiously forayed into the built environment after topping the interior design examinations in Manila in 2006. He has since worked for several notable architectural, interior and lighting design firms with international projects in Tokyo, Shanghai and the Middle East in a range of design capacities. He co-founded a social design enterprise empowering marginalized communities through innovative education-based service strategies, products and spaces. This passion has since morphed into his life goal. Prior to joining the education sector, AJ was facilitating the formulation of design programs and partnerships among multinationals,government agencies and local artisanal communities in Southeast Asia. AJ has been awarded several notable design merits and bursaries including the Audi Design Foundation and Trilux Scholarships. He holds an MA in Sustainable Design from the School of Design at Kingston University London, a certificate in lighting design from Brandi Institute for Light and Design in Hamburg and an honours degree in interior design from the University of the Philippines.
Patrícia has 6 years experience working as an architect in Portugal, specialising in interior work and building rehabilitations. She has also worked for the Portuguese ministry of health, being responsible for the spatial reorganisation and maintenance of several health centres in the municipality of Cascais on the Atlantic coast. After attending art school, Patrícia studied for her diploma in Architecture from the Escola Superior Artística in Porto, Portugal. She also holds a professional certificate in Window Dressing from the Insituto de Ensino Profissional Intensivo in Lisbon.
